Bone Meal 4-12-0 E-mail
Bone Meal is a by-product from meat rendering plants. It consists of ground animal bones that have been cooked and sterilized, and then ground into a meal. Espoma® Bone Meal is the finest bone meal available. It provides a slow, steady feeding of phosphorus and nitrogen, two primary nutrients required by all plants. Bone meal helps develop sturdy root systems and stimulates plant growth. Espoma® Bone Meal is an ideal supplement to fertilizers for bulbs, flowers, and roses. It is all natural and approved for organic gardening.

Directions

Lawns:
Apply in spring, summer, or fall at the rate of 5 lbs. per 100 square feet.

Bulbs & Gardens:
Apply at the rate of 10 lbs. per 100 square feet working well into soil.

Shrubs & Trees:
Apply 1 or 2 lbs. to shrub, tree, or bush depending upon size. Distribute under entire spread of shrub or tree raking well into soil. Do not use around plants that require an acidic soil without a soil test to determine that soil pH is too low.

Potted Plants:
Apply 2 ounces or about 1 heaping tablespoonful per pot; work into soil.

Cottonseed Meal 6-2-1 E-mail
Cottonseed Meal is a by-product from food grade cottonseed oil production. It is obtained by finely grinding the cottonseed flakes that remain after removal of most of the oil from cottonseed by a solvent extraction process. Espoma® Cotton Seed Meal is the finest type of cottonseed meal available. It is an all-natural, organic plant food generally used for feeding trees and shrubs. It provides plants with all three essential nutrients, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, which are necessary for plant growth.

Directions

Shrubs & Trees:
Sprinkle Espoma Cottonseed Meal on the ground over an area slightly greater than branch spread.

Plant Beds:
Apply Espoma Cottonseed Meal at the rate of 5 lbs. per 100 square feet and incorporate into soil.

Cow Manure 1-1-1 E-mail

Directions:

Amending Poor Soil: For clay or sandy soils, incorporate 20 pounds of Espoma Cow Manure per 50 square feet into the top 4-5 inches of soil. If plants are already established, add a 1-2 inch layer of Espoma Cow Manure onto the existing soil.

Vegetable Gardens and Flower Beds: Prior to planting, incorporate 20 pounds of Espoma Cow Manure per 50 square feet into the top 4-5 inches of soil. For row crops or small beds, apply 4 pounds per 10 square feet of row or area. Once plants are established, feed regularly with Espoma Plant-tone or Garden-tone.

Shrubs and Flowering Plants and Bulbs: Prior to planting, incorporate 4 pounds of Espoma Cow Manure per 10 square feet. Or blend 1 part Espoma Cow Manure with 3 parts soil to plant each shrub, plant or bulb. Once established, feed regularly with Espoma Holly-tone or Plant-tone.

Roses: Prior to planting, incorporate 20 pounds of Espoma Cow Manure per 50 square feet or blend 1 part Espoma Cow Manure with 3 parts soil for each plant. Once established, feed monthly through the growing season with Espoma Rose-tone or Plant-tone.

Potted Plants, Greenhouses and Seed Flats: Blend 1 part Espoma Cow Manure with 5 parts of a prepared potting medium. For seedlings, water and allow mixture to stand for 3 to 5 days before seeding. Once established, feed regularly with Espoma Flower-tone or Plant-tone.

Lawns: To improve the condition of soil prior to sodding or seeding a new lawn, incorporate a 1 to 2 inch layer of Espoma Cow Manure onto the surface of the soil. For an established lawn that needs organic matter, add a ½ inch layer of Espoma Cow Manure. Water regularly, and feed with Espoma Turf-tone or Espoma Organic Lawn Food once the Cow Manure is no longer visible.
