¨ As plants start to grow their young growth looks mighty tasty to deer and rabbits. So the sooner a repellent is applied the quicker you can break their habit of visiting your yard for a free dinner.
¨ A great granular repellent that our customers have had success with is Deer Scram. Deer Scram is an all-natural, biodegradable deer repellent that guarantees pesky white-tailed deer and rabbits from feeding on your prized gardens, shrubs and trees for 45 to 60 days per application. Deer Scram is a fully biodegradable organic granular deer-control product that contains no harmful chemicals or toxins that could hurt the animals, environment and, most importantly, you or your family.
¨ While Deer Scram consistently works for up to 60 days under normal conditions, be certain (especially during prolonged rainy periods) your valuable plants, shrubs and trees are safe by applying the product every 30 to 45 days. Remember, Deer Scram is completely safe, and it never hurts to use a little more.
¨ Simply sprinkle Deer Scram around the area to be protected. Sprinkle liberally covering the ground in a 16″ wide strip around plants or plots needing deer or rabbit protection.
¨ Normal rainfall actually enhances Deer Scram. No reapplication is necessary after a normal rainy day or evening thunderstorms. Do re-apply after a prolong rain.
¨ If you prefer to spray on your repellent then use Liquid Fence Deer & Rabbit Repellent. It is available in a concentrate or Ready to use quart or gallon
¨ Check for any bulbs poking through the soil. Treat this new growth with one of the mentioned deer repellents. Also fertilize these young shoots with some Milorganite Organic granular fertilizer. It not only feeds the plant but acts as an animal repellent.
¨ Take some time and clean all the fallen bird feed and shells under the feeder. Give the bird feeder a good cleaning and refill. Hang out some nesting material for the birds: Torn cloth, twine, shredded paper, straw, and dryer lint.
